"Teach You a Lesson" is an action drama centered on the fictional government agency known as the Office of Teacher Rights Protection, which steps in to deliver harsh but satisfying justice to broken schools overrun by unruly students, abusive teachers, and disruptive parents. Standing firmly on the side of victims, the agency’s mission to restore order to schools is expected to deliver thrilling catharsis to viewers.
Released on May 20, the main poster immediately grabs attention with its depiction of the agency’s four-member team confidently striding down a chaotic school hallway filled with shattered glass and overturned desks flying through the air.
Leading the group is inspector Na Hwa-jin, played by Kim Mu-yeol, who wears a relaxed smile despite the chaos around him. Behind him stands Choi Kang-seok, portrayed by Lee Sung-min, the founder of the Office of Teacher Rights Protection, watching over the team with a grave and dependable presence. Also featured are Lim Han-rim, played by Jin Ki-joo, whose charismatic gaze exudes intensity, and Bong Geun-dae, portrayed by Pyo Ji-hoon, clenching his fist with determination. Each character showcases a distinct charm, heightening anticipation for the team’s chemistry as they work together to save failing schools.
Centered around Choi Kang-seok, who established the agency to combat the “monsters” destroying schools, the trailer follows inspector Na Hwa-jin as he personally steps into schools for special disciplinary operations. It also highlights Lim Han-rim, brought in under the motto, “You fight crazies with crazies,” and Bong Geun-dae, who infiltrates schools using his unusually youthful appearance and intentionally pathetic persona as a disguise. Their intense action scenes unfold at a rapid pace.
Even after the declaration, “As of today, the Office of Teacher Rights Protection of the Republic of Korea will teach this school a lesson,” students continue their delinquent behavior while parents disrupt classrooms. The trailer also hints at opposition forces demanding the agency’s abolition, suggesting that the team’s mission will not be an easy one.
Still, with Choi Kang-seok’s stern warning — “Don’t interfere with compulsory education. I won’t let it slide.” — the series teases its brand of ruthless but satisfying “real education,” continuing until wrongdoers fully realize the consequences of their actions, promising viewers a strong sense of vicarious satisfaction.
With its fresh premise and unconventional cast of colorful characters, "Teach You a Lesson" will premiere globally on Netflix on Friday, June 5.
