The debut album 'COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES' by the group CORTIS has surpassed 500 million cumulative streams on Spotify. This milestone was achieved approximately seven months after its release last September, marking the first time a boy group that debuted within the last five years has reached 500 million streams with a single album.
'COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES' reflects the group's philosophy of "thinking freely, outside the standards and rules set by the world." The members participated in the co-creation of the overall content, including the music, choreography, and videos.
As of April 25, the album recorded a cumulative sales volume of 2,094,135 copies according to the Circle Chart, achieving the highest sales record among all K-pop debut albums in history. On Spotify, the highest proportion of listeners came from the United States, with consistent engagement from various countries including Indonesia, the Philippines, and Brazil.
The agency analyzed that the primary reason for this success was CORTIS expanding their reach to the local public through performances at U.S. NBA-related events in February and participating in the soundtrack for a Sony Pictures Animation film.
Meanwhile, CORTIS is set to release their second mini-album, 'GREENGREEN', on May 4. As of May 1, the album has recorded 985,000 pre-saves on Spotify, securing the No. 2 spot on the 'Countdown Chart Global' based on these figures.
