In the SBS Wednesday-Thursday drama "Sold Out on You" (written by Jin Seung-hee, directed by Ahn Jong-yeon), which has been sailing smoothly since its premiere by reaching No. 2 on the Netflix Global TV show chart (as of April 22), Chae Won-bin plays "Dam Ye-jin," a top home shopping host who never knows how to give up, showcasing a variety of charms.
From her very first appearance, Dam Ye-jin left a strong impression with her unconventional actions, such as conducting a live home shopping broadcast while cleaning the windows of a skyscraper. Her incredible execution and "straight-ahead" instincts shone even brighter in the face of crisis, such as prioritizing work even when receiving a breakup notification or heading straight to the director's office the moment she lost her prime-time broadcast slot.
In the process, she is adding a comedic touch by boasting an extraordinary "enemies-to-lovers" chemistry with young farmer Matthew Lee (played by Ahn Hyo-seop). She has induced laughter by revealing an unexpected clumsy side, such as being misunderstood for trespassing while trying various methods to approach the iron-willed Matthew Lee.
However, hidden behind her brave exterior are the struggles of suffering from trauma due to a past live broadcast failure and severe insomnia, drawing bitter empathy from "Sold Out-ers" living in the modern era. In particular, her unexpected behavior of crying and calling out "Mom" while on the phone with Matthew Lee late at night has amplified curiosity about her hidden backstory.
According to the production team, Dam Ye-jin's "bulldozer" instincts will shine even brighter in the upcoming episodes 3 and 4 as she works to renew a raw material supply contract. Attention is focused on what results will come from Dam Ye-jin's headstrong pursuit, as she still remains unaware that the owner of the mushroom farm she is looking for is Matthew Lee.
As such, despite this being her first romantic comedy challenge, Chae Won-bin is increasing the immersion of the drama by unraveling the multi-dimensional aspects of her character with her own unique color. From professional passion to a fragile inner self, expectations are high for Chae Won-bin's performance as she leads the narrative with infinite charm.
The unstoppable journey of the lovely bulldozer Chae Won-bin continues in episode 3 of "Sold Out on You," which will air on the 29th at 9 PM.
