On the April 20 episode of SBS’s "uh, but like, seriously!", BOYNEXTDOOR’s JAEHYUN appeared as a new boarder at Su-ji’s guesthouse alongside DAWN and Lee Sang-jun.
During the show, JAEHYUN said, “If you date, it’s not just ‘no entry’ to the house ― it becomes a big problem.” Tak Jae-hoon asked, “But you still want to date, right?”
JAEHYUN shook his head, saying absolutely not. When asked if there’s a formal no-dating rule, he said there isn’t. But he hinted there was a word of caution from producer ZICO.
Tak Jae-hoon cracked, “But ZICO dated,” prompting laughter. JAEHYUN shared ZICO’s message to BOYNEXTDOOR: “He said he wants us to avoid what he went through and only experience the good stuff.”
Tak Jae-hoon joked back, “What he went through might be the good stuff,” drawing more laughs. Lee Sang-jun added, “Don’t you have to experience love and breakups to write good songs?”
DAWN nodded in agreement at first. “You get that, right, DAWN?” Tak Jae-hoon asked. But DAWN waved it off: “I don’t get it either.”
Tak Jae-hoon pressed, “Don’t you need real experiences to write lyrics and melodies?” Then KAI chimed in with a playful line: “So I growled, and that’s why ‘Growl’ happened?” sending everyone into laughter.
