Translator Hwang Seok-hee, known for his work on the "Deadpool" and "Spider-Man" films, is facing sex crime allegations.
Dispatch reported on the 30th that Hwang Seok-hee had committed sexual offenses on three occasions in the past. According to the report, he was indicted twice, in 2005 and 2014, on charges including forcible molestation and quasi-rape, and received suspended sentences in both cases. Dispatch also stated that his wife’s repeated appeals for leniency influenced the sentencing.
Following the report, Hwang Seok-hee stated on his social media, “I am currently reviewing the matter with my lawyer,” adding, “If the report contains inaccuracies, unverified information, or expressions that go beyond the scope of legal judgment, I will consider requesting corrections and taking appropriate action.”
Hwang Seok-hee recently worked as the translator for the film "Project Hail Mary."
