Former EPEX member Geum Dong-hyun has landed the lead role in his first-ever stage play, taking on a brand-new challenge.
On the morning of the 25th, Management Run announced, “Our actor Geum Dong-hyun, after wrapping a Korea-China-Japan Asia tour, has been confirmed as the lead in the play ‘Soft Goodbye’ (literal title), set to open this June. With his sincere acting, he will deliver deep resonance and emotion to audiences. Expectations from fans in Korea and abroad are rising for Geum Dong-hyun’s new challenge.”
Active across multiple fields before and after his time with EPEX, Geum has appeared in the drama series ‘Best Mistake,’ ‘Fall for you,’ and served as an MC on the music program ‘Show! Champion.’ He now steps up as the lead in his first play, ‘Soft Goodbye,’ following a recent big-screen challenge.
On stage, he will meet audiences as Park Min-jae, the youngest CEO running the special-cleaning company ‘Kkot Hyanggi.’ He may seem cold, but he believes in human warmth more than anyone. Through Park Min-jae, Geum signals a fresh side of himself as an actor.
This project holds special meaning as Geum’s first time on the theater stage after meeting fans on various platforms. With live performance demanding delicate, tightly focused acting, Geum will begin full-scale rehearsals on the 25th to ensure a high-quality production.
Ahead of his theater debut, Geum shared, “I’m thrilled to receive such a great opportunity to lead alongside veteran seniors, and I feel a big sense of responsibility, too. I’ll do my very best so the audience can feel the warmth and the message of the play.”
Meanwhile, ‘Soft Goodbye’ runs from June 5 to July 26 at KT&G Sangsangmadang Daechi Art Hall.
