Actor Jang Da A shared her joy at achieving her long-held dream of making her big-screen debut.
At the press screening and media Q&A for the film "Salmokji : Whispering Water", held the afternoon of the 24th at CGV Yongsan in Seoul, Jang said about her debut, "Ever since I started acting, I dreamed of buying a ticket myself and seeing my work on the big screen. I'm grateful that, sooner than I expected, I got to take on a compelling script and work with incredible senior actors on such a special project."
She added, "Watching the movie today, I was busy spotting where I still need to improve. I want to see it two or three more times so I can fully enjoy the film."
Jang plays Sejeong, the operator of a horror broadcast channel, who amps up the fear in the second half of the movie.
"As we filmed, the character evolved into something much more gruesome than in the first draft," she said. "But that never scared me because I communicated a lot with the director. As an actor, I'm thankful for scenes that can leave an impact, so I was happy to take them on. They were challenging, but thanks to the director and staff, I was able to enjoy filming them."
A rookie actor, Jang Da A debuted in 2023 through a commercial and began acting in 2024 with the drama "Pyramid Game." She is also known as the older sister of IVE member JANGWONYOUNG.
"Salmokji : Whispering Water" follows a Street View filming crew that steps into "Salmokji" Reservoir, a site haunted by bizarre rumors. The film opens on April 8.
