Seoul is gearing up for a citywide celebration as BTS readies their comeback.
On the 16th, BTS revealed the full lineup for their urban project, 'BTS THE CITY ARIRANG SEOUL,' via global fan platform Weverse. The project will run across central Seoul from March 20 to April 19.
On March 20, the release day of the new album 'ARIRANG,' media facade projections will light up Sungnyemun and Namsan Seoul Tower. A drone light show will take over Ttukseom Hangang Park for about 15 minutes starting at 8:30 p.m. Gwanghwamun Plaza will also switch to full-on festival mode ahead of the comeback performance, with large outdoor screens in the area playing comeback content from 7 p.m. on the 20th to midnight on the 21st. Music light shows are set for Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) and the Banpo Bridge Moonlight Rainbow Fountain. The DDP program runs March 20-April 12, while the Banpo Bridge shows take place March 21-22.
A check-in style stamp rally will be held at key spots including Yeouido, DDP, and Shinsegae Square. From March 20-22, the 'Love Song Lounge' will operate at the Yeouido Hangang Park Event Plaza, offering interactive experiences tied to the global campaign phrase "WHAT IS YOUR LOVE SONG?" along with busking performances.
From April 6-12, DDP Exhibition Hall 1 transforms into the 'DDP ARMY Yard,' and from April 6-19, the 'Love Quarter' program will run along Cheonggyecheon and around Yongsan Station. Expect creative media displays woven into city spaces like stone walls, stairways, and street trees. Collaboration programs across mobility, lodging, finance, and F&B will also roll out to boost visitor convenience and make 'The City' project accessible throughout downtown.
BTS will drop their fifth full-length album 'ARIRANG' at 1 p.m. on March 20, followed by a comeback performance at Gwanghwamun Plaza on March 21. The show will be streamed live worldwide on Netflix.
