BLACKPINK just smashed a new K-pop record with their latest album.
With their third mini album [DEADLINE], BLACKPINK set a new first-week sales record for a K-pop girl group. According to Hanteo Chart on the 6th, [DEADLINE] sold a total of 1,774,577 copies from Feb. 27 to Mar. 5. It’s the highest first-week tally ever for a K-pop girl group and marks an increase of roughly 230,000 copies compared to [BORN PINK].
[DEADLINE] signaled massive demand early, racking up nearly 1.9 million pre-orders during the reservation period. On release day alone, it moved 1,461,785 copies, setting a new single-day sales record for a K-pop girl group. With just two and a half days of tracking, the album swept Hanteo’s weekly and monthly charts and clinched a triple crown on Circle Chart.
The numbers underscore BLACKPINK’s powerhouse influence on the global music market and the explosive strength of their core fandom. With worldwide demand surpassing expectations and additional production underway, final sales are expected to climb even higher.
BLACKPINK is also making waves on global charts. [DEADLINE] hit No. 1 on iTunes Album charts in a cumulative 38 regions, topping the worldwide ranking. The music video for title track “GO” shot to No. 1 on YouTube Worldwide Trending right after release and became the “most-viewed video in 24 hours.”
Major international outlets are spotlighting [DEADLINE] with rave reviews. Rolling Stone wrote, “BLACKPINK has returned to their peak,” adding that the four members’ distinct personalities shine while asserting their presence “in the way BLACKPINK does best.” Billboard called title track “GO” “the best song on the album and the one that truly represents BLACKPINK.”
