The March 4 episode of the SBS Plus and ENA reality dating show flipped the script: once-sweet pairings Young-sik-Young-ja and Young-chul-Jung-suk turned ice-cold after their Day 4 dates.
With the women’s “simultaneous choice” dates almost all revealed, the last round brought a 2:1 date with Young-su, Sun-ja, and Ok-soon. After eating the show’s dreaded “Solo Meal” the night before, Young-su admitted that jumping into a many-to-one date left him “happy but confused.”
During a one-on-one, Young-su told Ok-soon, “I still haven’t closed things with my No. 1, Young-ja. I plan to talk to her later.” Ok-soon declared she wouldn’t settle for being anyone’s second choice. Grateful but honest, Young-su added, “There are three people on my mind. One (Young-ja) I’m just drawn to. With another (Sun-ja), I feel comfortable. With the other, I have fun.”
In her turn, Sun-ja asked straight up where his heart was. Young-su admitted he still had lingering feelings for Young-ja and would keep pursuing her “until she says I’m not it.” But he also said, “I want to meet someone who’s showing interest in me. That shift alone means a lot to me,” which pleased Sun-ja.
Elsewhere, after a tense “clear-the-air” talk with Young-ho, Young-suk asked Kwang-su in the common area, “Do you like me, or do you like Young-ho?” and even confessed she’d wanted to push Young-ho out. Young-ho stood firm: “I feel sorry, but I don’t regret my actions.” The mood turned awkward until Sang-chul pulled Young-suk aside to explain why he’d reversed his choice during the earlier selection. She said it actually worked in his favor and thanked him for rescuing her from the chill with Young-ho. Later, Sang-chul told producers he was smitten by Young-suk’s understanding.
After the 2:1 date, Young-su finally asked Young-ja to talk. He stressed, “I’ve always said in producer interviews that you were my No. 1.” But Young-ja called out the fact that he hadn’t chosen her during the simultaneous choice. She added, “If I had to choose right now, I’d still pick Young-sik.” When he looked deflated, she hinted, “But if we actually went on a date, things could change. It’s just… you weren’t doing anything, so I figured I didn’t matter to you.” Misreading her opening as a rejection, Young-su announced, “From tomorrow, I’ll just call you for advice,” essentially backing out―leaving Young-ja stunned. He then found Ok-soon and flirted, asking her to “stay by my side” while he used the massage chair in the women’s room. Just then, Sun-ja―who’d been looking for him―spotted them and briskly walked past without a greeting. “I didn’t even do anything…” Young-su said, baffled.
On the morning of Day 4, Young-chul got up early hoping for a sunrise walk with Jung-suk, but struggled to get her to come out. When she appeared, he confessed, “There are so many cameras―it makes me shy. I avoid places where the women might call me over. I only want to share my thoughts and values with someone I like.” Jung-suk seemed to get it and said she’d like to go on a date if the chance came.
That night, after turning into the green-eyed monster, Sun-ja brightened when she heard Young-ja had rejected Young-su. When Young-su called her out to talk, she joined with a smile like nothing had happened. He gifted her a hangover cure and asked why she’d acted mad the night before. “I was jealous,” she admitted. He teased back, “I saw you talking with Sang-chul―you two were making the rounds together.” He then said he’d “closed the book” on Young-ja and jokingly told Sun-ja and Ok-soon to “fight it out.” Thinking she’d become his No. 1, Sun-ja grinned―until Young-su went to Ok-soon too, saying “Play with me,” and handed her the exact same hangover cure. Earlier, Sun-ja had purposely left the hangover packet from Young-su where Ok-soon would see it. Happy but wary of sparking more jealousy, Ok-soon quickly hid her late-arriving gift in her suitcase.
With everyone’s feelings in a tangle, another simultaneous choice kicked off―this time revealing the women’s picks first. Young-suk walked past the untrustworthy Young-ho and chose Sang-chul. Jung-suk stayed with Young-chul, and Young-ja stuck with Young-sik. Both Sun-ja and Ok-soon headed to Young-su―joined by Hyun-suk―setting up a 3:1 date. Meanwhile, Young-ho and Kwang-su got zero picks and locked in another “Solo Meal.”
On their date, Young-ja showed a 180. When Young-sik said he couldn’t ride a bike, she snapped, “At this point, what can you do?” In the car, she told the nervous driver, “You talk too much,” then deadpanned, “Maybe return this car to your friend who owned it before?” Over lunch, she even brought up Young-su: “I heard he kept saying I was his No. 1.” Afterward, she told producers, “The date with Young-sik was so boring. I just wanted to go home. Maybe I should have explored someone else.”
Young-chul and Jung-suk went to a charcoal kiln jjimjilbang. When Young-chul realized he’d left his phone in the car, Jung-suk coolly paid for the sauna. But he couldn’t stop clocking the cameras. “When they’re rolling, I keep talking. I feel like I have to show who I am,” he said, even scanning other patrons and thanking them for “not paying attention to us,” which left Jung-suk bewildered. In his interview, Young-chul said he liked Jung-suk’s considerate vibe―like Anna from Frozen. But right after, Jung-suk sighed, “Ugh, boring,” and admitted her interest had dropped: “He isn’t cute. He kept prioritizing other people’s eyes and the cameras over our conversation.” A sharp reversal.
