Actor Kim Shin-bi is set to showcase his “real-life youth” charm in "My Baby Daddy Is My Best Friend", which drops today (the 4th).
"My Baby Daddy Is My Best Friend" is a chaos-fueled romantic comedy about a guy friend and a girl friend who skip dating and marriage but team up for parenting. It’s the latest short-form project from director Lee Byung-hun, known for "Extreme Job," "Twenty," and the drama "Be Melodramatic," and it’s been a hot topic since the announcement. In the official trailer, Kim’s playful expressions and lines as he seeks permission to marry sparked major curiosity among viewers.
Ahead of today’s release, attention is already on Kim’s performance. He plays Gu-in, who gets a wild request from his longtime female friend Je-ah (played by Choi Hyo-joo): “Be my baby’s dad.” From the easygoing vibes of a true best friend to a fluttery friends-to-lovers tension―and even warm family moments―Gu-in grows up on screen, finding his footing and sense of responsibility. Expect a layered lead who steers the story forward.
Kim also promises candid, laugh-out-loud beats―thanks to his mischievous gaze, sharp comedic timing, and spot-on character work that captures the messy, relatable sides of modern youth.
Signaling a fresh transformation through "My Baby Daddy Is My Best Friend", Kim has been building buzz across genres with "The Roundup: Punishment", KBS 2TV’s ‘The First Night with the Duke’, tvN’s ‘The Auditors’, SBS’s "Flex X Cop," "Revenant," "Cheer Up," and the Netflix series "A Model Family." Last year, he met audiences at the 30th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), sharing honest stories during a GV session for the film ‘The Love of Truman’.
"My Baby Daddy Is My Best Friend", starring Kim Shin-bi, is available to watch in full on Lezhin Snack.
