BTS’ next album, "ARIRANG", is already steamrolling the charts ― and fans have only seen the title so far.
The group’s fifth studio set "ARIRANG" has cleared 3 million pre-saves on Spotify as of February 4. The project hit 1 million pre-saves just two days after the campaign launched, surpassed 2 million by day four, and continues to climb. All eyes are on whether it can top the all-time Spotify pre-save record held by Taylor Swift’s 12th album, "The Life of a Showgirl" (about 6 million).
"ARIRANG" also ruled Spotify’s Countdown Charts Global for two straight weeks (weeks of Jan. 21 and Jan. 28). The chart tracks pre-saves for upcoming albums and singles ― a reliable bellwether for global demand.
Fan fervor is spiking across the board. After Weverse announced the album and an upcoming world tour, membership sign-ups nearly tripled. Meanwhile, "Yet To Come" (from the anthology "Proof") and "Love Maze" (from "LOVE YOURSELF: Tear") have surpassed 100 million and 50 million streams in Japan, respectively, earning Platinum and Gold streaming certifications from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ). With the first full-group comeback in about three years and nine months on the horizon, listeners are revisiting BTS’ message in a big way.
"ARIRANG" arrives March 20 at 1 p.m. KST with 14 tracks that explore identity, longing, and deep love ― themes poised to resonate with listeners worldwide. The day after release, on March 21, BTS will stage “BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | "ARIRANG"” at Seoul’s Gwanghwamun Plaza, marking the first-ever solo concert at the historic venue ― a new cultural milestone for the group. The event will stream live on Netflix in more than 190 countries and regions.
