The romantic drama "Once We Were Us", starring Koo Kyo-hwan and Moon Ga-young, is on track to crack the 2 million admissions mark as early as this weekend.

According to the Korean Film Council’s box office database on the 23rd, "Once We Were Us" drew 39,481 moviegoers nationwide on the 22nd, extending its streak at No. 1 to 12 straight days. Its cumulative admissions now stand at 1,746,737.

While daily turnout dipped into the 30,000 range for the first time since its Dec. 31 opening, the film’s grip on the top spot hasn’t budged. After leading the weekend box office for two consecutive frames―340,000 tickets in week two and 310,000 in week three―"Once We Were Us" could surpass 2 million nationwide this fourth weekend if it adds roughly 260,000 more viewers. Despite a softening trend, the milestone is expected to land by Sunday.

In advance sales, the film also leads among new releases with a 12.3% share and roughly 51,000 tickets booked.

"Once We Were Us" follows former lovers Eun-ho (Koo Kyo-hwan) and Jung-won (Moon Ga-young), who reunite by chance a decade after a blazing romance and sift through the echoes of their past. The feature is a remake of the Chinese hit "Us and Them."
