Galaxy Corporation, home to G-DRAGON, has been awarded a presidential commendation recognizing its contributions to the nation’s hosting of the 2025 APEC Summit, following G-DRAGON’s own recent honor.
On the 19th, Galaxy Corporation shared the official citation, which praised the company for its significant role in advancing national and social development through the 2025 APEC Summit.
The company helped drive momentum around the event by securing G-DRAGON’s appointment as an official APEC ambassador, serving as an official summit sponsor, and attending the welcome banquet as the sole entertainment-tech firm―moves that elevated its profile while contributing to national soft power.
CEO Choi Yong-ho, 37, is also drawing praise for steering both G-DRAGON’s record as the youngest recipient of the Ok-Gwan Order of Cultural Merit and this new presidential commendation, underscoring K-culture’s growing global leadership.
As APEC’s official ambassador, G-DRAGON delivered a special performance at the summit’s welcome banquet that showcased the power of Korean culture on the world stage. Chilean Foreign Minister Alberto van Klaveren and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney were seen filming the set on their phones, visibly impressed. President Lee Jae-myung and Chinese President Xi Jinping watched side by side, a moment that quickly lit up social media.
Galaxy Corporation and G-DRAGON also gifted attending leaders a “Peace with Create” light-stick package, sharing a message about art’s ability to transcend language and borders. Embracing the “Beyond Myself” ethos―rooted in the Ubermensch idea―the duo positioned themselves as global standard-bearers, hinting at new diplomatic possibilities for K-culture.
“It was an honor to help amplify K-culture on the world stage and contribute to Korea’s global influence through our wide-ranging involvement in the APEC Summit,” Galaxy Corporation said, calling the event “more than a participation―it was a statement about the power of K-content.”
