Koo Kyo-hwan and Moon Ga-young’s romance "Once We Were Us" held onto the No. 1 spot at the weekend box office for the second week in a row.

According to the Korean Film Council’s box office tracker on the 19th, the film drew 316,411 moviegoers nationwide from the 16th to the 18th, pushing its cumulative admissions to 1,573,843.

After opening on December 31, "Once We Were Us" climbed to No. 1 in its second week, edging out "Avatar: Fire and Ash," and has now topped the weekend box office two consecutive frames. The film has already cleared its break-even point (around 1.1 million admissions) and is steadily tracking toward the 2 million mark.

"Once We Were Us" follows Eun-ho (Koo Kyo-hwan) and Jung-won (Moon Ga-young), former lovers who reunite a decade later and sift through the echoes of their past. The film is a remake of the Chinese hit "Us and Them."
