Even as a high-stakes legal fight swirls around her former label ADOR, NewJeans’ DANIELLE is keeping things low-key ― quietly donating and staying connected with fans.
On the 13th, nonprofit YANA (You Are Not Alone) announced that DANIELLE donated roughly 302 million won to support children in group homes, single-parent families, and young adults transitioning out of state care. The fundraiser also saw participation from actor couple Cha In-pyo and Shin Ae-ra, along with corporate partners, to aid communities in need.
It’s not her first act of giving. During group activities, DANIELLE previously donated all proceeds from a university festival performance to the Korea Student Aid Foundation and made contributions in the name of the fandom, Bunnies, to support children and teens caring for family members.
Alongside the donation, DANIELLE has been more present online. After reactivating on Instagram, she opened an account on China’s Xiaohongshu, signaling a move to engage overseas fans and potentially laying groundwork for broader activity in China and beyond.
On January 12, she also went live on social media, getting candid with viewers and tearing up at times. “NewJeans is always in my heart. I fought to the end to stay with the members,” she said, adding, “Even if we’re in slightly different places, I believe we’re the same at heart ― one Bunnies, one family.” She declined to address specifics of the dispute, saying only that matters are “still being sorted out.”
DANIELLE recently received notice of contract termination from ADOR following a dispute over her exclusive agreement. ADOR has filed a lawsuit seeking roughly 43 billion won in penalties and damages against DANIELLE and others, while DANIELLE has retained legal representation to respond.
