At the 2025 SBS Drama Awards, broadcast live from SBS Prism Tower in Seoul’s Sangam neighborhood at 8:50 p.m. KST on Dec. 31, Lee Sung-wook and Gil Hae-yeon won in the Human-Fantasy Mini-Series Supporting category.

Lee, who made a splash as a scene-stealing villain in the drama Try, admitted, “I’ve been nervous since I left home and still haven’t calmed down,” adding with a laugh that this was an award he “really, really wanted.”

He singled out the show’s writer for crafting a properly wicked character he could sink his teeth into, and shared the credit with his colleagues: “This doesn’t feel like just my achievement. Our teamwork was exceptional―this belongs to the team.”

Lee also gave a warm shoutout to his family, saying he’d promised not to go long if he won, but still had to “at least say my daughters’ names,” before expressing his love for them.

Gil, who delivered memorable turns in Try and Haunted Palace, confessed she was caught off guard when her name was called. “I was teasing Sung-wook while he was giving his speech and just enjoying the moment―then suddenly it was me,” she said with a smile.

She grew emotional thanking her Try family: “Just watching the team brings me to tears. From Yoon Kye-sang to the rugby squad, the shooting team, and all the teachers―I was happy every single day because of you.”

Gil also thanked the producers and writers, revealing a touching behind-the-scenes note: the principal she played in Try was inspired by the writer’s mother. “During the shoots for Haunted Palace and Try, my mother passed away,” she shared. “In my hardest moments, going to set became a source of comfort and healing. I’m grateful to everyone who stood with me through that time, and I dedicate this award to my mother in heaven. I’ll stay humble but confident, and keep striving to be a better person and actor.”
