Ahead of the live show, producers teased three big reasons to tune in: a first look at the faces of SBS’s 2026 slate, a nail-biter Grand Prize race, and show-stopping performances befitting SBS’s self-styled “GOD SBS” swagger.
▲ First Look at 2026 Dramas
Carrying the torch into 2026, a wave of fresh and returning stars will take the stage as presenters. Kim Hye-yoon and Lomon lead off the Friday-Saturday lineup with "Human from Today"; Yoo Yeon-seok previews a radical turn as a “possessed” attorney in "With God" (working title); Kim Bum announces his small-screen comeback with "Sold Out Today"; and the "Flex X Cop" 2 squad―Ahn Bo-hyun, Jung Eun-chae, Kang Sang-jun, and Kim Shin-bi―returns for Season 2. Kim Ji-won also teases a fierce new persona as an OR “mad dog” in the medical noir "Doctor X: The Age of the White Mafia" (working title). Jang Na-ra, last year’s Grand Prize winner, joins "Good Partner 2" co-stars Pyo Ji-hoon and Ji Seung-hyun as presenters.
▲ Who Takes the Grand Prize?
This year’s top trophy is too close to call. Contenders include Han Ji-min (Love Scout), Park Hyung-sik (Buried Hearts), Yoon Kye-sang (The Winning Try), Ko Hyun-jung (Queen Mantis), and Lee Je-hoon (Taxi Driver 3). All eyes are on whether Lee―who won in 2023―can reclaim the crown, while Ko and Han fuel a compelling showdown on the actress front, and Yoon and Park emerge as dark horses in a stacked field.
▲ The ‘GOD SBS’ Flex
SBS leans into its “GOD SBS” theme after a banner year for K-culture worldwide. According to Nielsen Korea, SBS was the only major channel to crack the 2% mark in the key 18-49 demo for prime-time dramas in 2025 (Jan. 1-Dec. 28, miniseries, excluding weekend soaps), topping the field for a sixth straight year at 2.3%, with 8.2% in household ratings. Five SBS titles―"Love Scout," "Buried Hearts," "The Haunted Palace," "Would You Marry Me," and "Taxi Driver 3"―swept the year’s drama Top 5, underscoring the network’s dominance in ratings, buzz, and global traction. Expect the live show to double down on that momentum.
The 2025 SBS Drama Awards airs live tonight (Dec. 31) at 8:50 p.m. KST, hosted by Shin Dong-yup, Chae Won-bin, and Heo Nam-joon.
