MBN’s competition series "The Best K-Trot Singer 3" will edit out trot singer Sookhaeng following an alleged affair scandal that erupted over an elevator PDA video.
In a statement on the 30th, producers said their response took time as the situation escalated quickly after receiving Sookhaeng’s position. They confirmed all of the singer’s solo stages will be removed from broadcast. Because the show features team performances, group segments that include Sookhaeng will be trimmed to the bare minimum to avoid penalizing other contestants, they added. The decision, they said, balances program quality with cast protection, and the team vowed to deliver the most polished episodes possible.
The controversy flared after a tipster claimed her husband lived with Sookhaeng during his marriage and released building CCTV footage that appears to show the singer and the man hugging and kissing in an elevator. Sookhaeng later posted an apology on social media for “causing concern over a personal matter” and announced her exit from "The Best K-Trot Singer 3". She also signaled legal action, saying she would address the facts through formal proceedings.
