On their way to dinner, the hosts debated how to tackle two orders―spicy beef tripe hot pot and brisket. When asked how they wanted to eat it all together, they hesitated.
Shin Si-a cut through the chaos: “Can you start simmering the tripe stew? We’ll grill the meat first.” Impressed by the clean fix, Yoo Jae-suk laughed, “Crisis averted. I was low?key panicking.”
Chatting about careers, Shin and Choo shared they’re four to five years in, while Yoo Jae-suk and Yoo Yeon-seok are veterans at 34 and 22 years, respectively. Yoo Jae-suk cracked, looking at Yoo Yeon-seok, “You’re a 22-year mountain―basically a sage. We’re ancient masters at this point.”
Once the feast began, Shin tied her hair back and went full-on eating-show mode, peppering the MCs with questions between bites.
Then Yoo Yeon-seok suggested a playful way to decide the bill: everyone grabs a corner of a lettuce leaf and pulls―whoever ends up with the biggest piece pays.
Yoo Yeon-seok wound up with a massive chunk, and Yoo Jae-suk grinned, “Great meal, and I didn’t even have to pay.”
After dinner, the foursome hit a cafe for dessert. Noticing Shin’s food knowledge, Yoo Jae-suk asked if she’d studied up.
“I did a little homework before filming Country Cook. And I just love food, so I pick things up naturally,” she admitted.
The second clients were elementary school cafeteria cooks, and the hosts and helpers locked in to make up for an earlier mission that had gone sideways.
After a shaky start in the first task, Choo Young-woo redeemed himself in the second, emerging as the day’s hero and delivering a true Christmas gift―drawing big cheers from the team.
A teaser at the end promised upcoming appearances by Cha Tae-hyun and Kim Do-hoon, setting up anticipation for the next episode.
