The abduction thriller ‘Sister,’ starring Jung Ji-so, Lee Soo-hyuk and Cha Joo-young, has set a January 28, 2026 theatrical release and unveiled its first poster.
Sister tracks Haeran (Jung Ji-so), who kidnaps her older half-sister Sojin (Cha Joo-young) for a hefty ransom with the help of mastermind Taesu (Lee Soo-hyuk). As Sojin fights to escape, buried truths among the trio come to light, promising taut, claustrophobic suspense and razor-edged psychological games.
Jung Ji-so, who broke out as Park Da-hye in "Parasite" and impressed in "The Cursed" and Netflix’s "The Glory," takes the lead as Haeran. Conspiring with Taesu to abduct her half-sister to cover her younger sibling’s surgery costs, she drives the narrative as fractures in their relationship deepen and emotions shift.
Lee Soo-hyuk steps in as Taesu, the architect controlling every move of the operation. He transforms into a chilling antagonist, leaning into his commanding screen presence.
Cha Joo-young plays Sojin, a hostage seized without warning. Fresh off her buzzworthy turn in "The Glory"―and praised for follow-ups including the drama "The Queen Who Crowns" and the film "Lobby"―she becomes the crucial wildcard who upends the scheme after realizing she’s been taken by a sister she never knew existed.
The newly released poster grabs attention with the trio’s starkly different expressions: Haeran strung tight with tension, Taesu wearing a cryptic half-smile, and Sojin frozen in fear―hinting at the divergent moments each inhabits. The line “I kidnapped my sister today” teases a layered story that goes beyond a standard kidnap thriller, signaling cracked ties between two half-sisters and a man, and secrets waiting to detonate.
