SBS’s hit Friday-Saturday drama "Taxi Driver 3" is teeing up its third scene-stealing villain, unveiling a special poster for Eum Moon-suk’s cameo as Cheon Gwang-jin.
The reveal follows Yoon Shi-yoon’s buzzed-about turn as Cha Byung-jin ― a former lawyer-turned-used-car scam kingpin ― whose chilling duality left a mark. Episode 4 surged to a series high, peaking at 15.4% (12.6% in the Seoul capital area, 11.6% nationwide), topping its time slot and leading both Saturday and weekly mini-series rankings. The show also dominated the 20-49 demo, averaging 4.2% and climbing to a 4.91% high across all channels for November broadcasts.
Eum steps in as Cheon Gwang-jin, a man holding the ugly secret behind a “no-body” murder case tied to Mindong University’s volleyball team ― and the newly released poster makes his menace unmistakable.
Sporting a messy, half-tied mane, a loud patterned suit and stark black-rimmed glasses, Eum’s off-kilter look oozes danger. That self-assured grin? Downright chilling. The tease raises the stakes for how his antagonist will come after Lee Je-hoon’s vigilante cabbie, Kim Do-gi.
“'The Fiery Priest' and 'The Roundup' proved Eum Moon-suk can play comedy and noir while redefining the modern villain,” the production team said. “Expect hair-raising twists ― and extreme action sequences opposite Lee Je-hoon that you won’t be able to look away from.”
"Taxi Driver 3" follows the shadowy Rainbow Taxi crew and driver Kim Do-gi as they deliver justice for victims the system failed. Episode 5 airs Friday, Dec. 5 at 9:50 p.m. KST on SBS.
