Rapper San E was accused of trespassing and property damage by a Chinese artist under his label but has been cleared of all charges by the police.
On the 8th, San E shared a notice of non-indictment he received from the Yangcheon Police Station in Seoul on his social media. The message stated, "The case against you for violation of the Act on the Punishment of Violent Acts (joint trespassing, joint property damage, etc.) has been decided as not guilty due to insufficient evidence."
Previously, San E was sued in March by RETA, a Chinese artist under his label, FameUs Entertainment.
RETA claimed that during her stay in China due to visa expiration, San E and a company representative, identified only as Mr. Jung, entered her residence without consent and moved or disposed of furniture and belongings she had stored there.
RETA stated, "I never gave them the passcode to my house," accusing San E and the representatives of trespassing and concealing property, and reported these allegations to the authorities through a lawsuit.
However, the police concluded that there was "insufficient evidence" to support the allegations against San E, resulting in a decision of 'no charges.' Thus, San E was cleared of all accusations four months after being sued.
In other news, San E was also involved in an assault case in a park in Mapo District last year but received a deferred prosecution for the charge of aggravated assault at that time.
Deferred prosecution is a decision made when a crime is acknowledged but, considering various factors, it is deemed unnecessary to proceed with prosecution.
San E's father was also charged with assault in the same incident but the case was closed after a settlement was reached between the parties involved.
