Shin Woo-bin is gearing up for his big screen debut in the movie 'My Name Is' (literal title), directed by Jung Ji-young, known for 'Unbowed,' 'Black Money,' and 'The Boys.' In 'My Name Is,' Shin Woo-bin will play the lead role of 'Young-ok.'
'My Name Is' is a film that explores the wounds of the 1948 Jeju April 3rd Incident through the names 'Jung-soon' and 'Young-ok,' showing how these scars have evolved through the turbulent democratization process of the 1980s and into 1998, and how they connect to future generations in 2025. Actress Yeom Hye-ran, who plays the lead role of 'Jung-soon,' has already garnered much attention ahead of the film's release. Shin Woo-bin is taking his first steps as an actor with the lead role in 'My Name Is.'
Meanwhile, 'My Name Is' began filming on April 3rd and aims for a release during the Jeju April 3rd Memorial Week in 2026.
