
Director Kang Hyeong-cheol, known for hits like 'Scandal Makers' and 'Sunny', is taking his latest film 'HI-FIVE' global, targeting both domestic and international audiences simultaneously.
According to the film's distributor NEW, 'HI-FIVE' is set to premiere in South Korea on May 30th (Friday), with a series of international releases following closely behind. Starting with Cambodia on June 6th (Friday), the film will make its way to Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei on June 12th (Thursday), followed by Indonesia, Vietnam, Taiwan, East Timor on June 13th (Friday), and finally reaching audiences in Hong Kong and Macao on June 19th (Thursday). Notably, the film is also scheduled for a North American release in the United States and Canada on June 20th (Friday), sparking significant interest among overseas fans.
A distributor from Hong Kong, Edko Films, mentioned, "There's a growing demand for Korean comedy films in the global market," expressing high expectations for 'HI-FIVE'. The film's international rollout continues to gain momentum, promising to captivate global audiences with its universal humor and action-packed storyline, transcending language barriers.
'HI-FIVE' tells the story of five individuals who, after undergoing organ transplants, accidentally acquire unique superpowers. They then find themselves pursued by those eager to exploit their abilities. Featuring a stellar cast including Lee Jae-in, Ahn Jae Hong, Ra Miran, Kim Hie-won, Oh Jung-se and PARK JINYOUNG, and directed by Kang Hyeong-cheol, whose previous works have brought laughter to millions, 'HI-FIVE' is already generating buzz ahead of its release.
With global premiere preparations in full swing, 'HI-FIVE' is set to hit theaters on May 30th (Friday).
