NewJeans has clinched a significant award at a Japanese music awards ceremony.

The single 'Ditto' from NewJeans' album 'OMG' was honored with the 'Best K-Pop Song in Japan' award at the 'Music Awards Japan 2025' held in Kyoto, Japan, on the 21st.

The 'Music Awards Japan' is a prestigious ceremony organized in collaboration with Japan's Recording Industry Association, among other key local organizations and government bodies. Winners are determined through a combination of objective indicators from Billboard Japan, Oricon, and votes from over 5,000 music industry professionals.

Despite being released on December 19, 2022, 'Ditto' has won this award in the ceremony's inaugural year, proving that NewJeans' music transcends time and place, continuing to be cherished long after its release.

After embarking on independent activities, NewJeans faced a setback in March when their agency, ADOR, lost a legal injunction aimed at preserving the company's status and preventing contract signings. This led the group to halt their activities and prepare for a main lawsuit.
