According to Nielsen Korea, the April 17th broadcast of SBS's 'Jungle Bob 2 - Caribbean Bob' achieved a household rating of 3.5% and a target demographic rating of 1.2% (in the metropolitan area), making it the highest-rated television show across terrestrial, cable, and satellite channels in its time slot. The peak minute rating soared to 4.7%.
The episode featured Ryu Soo-young and Kim Ok-bin, along with new additions actor Lee Joon and chef Yoon Nam-no, as they traveled to the beautiful island of Mano Juan in the Dominican Republic. The stunning Caribbean scenery and abundant local ingredients had the cast excited from the start.
Upon arrival, the cast quickly bonded, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere. Kim Ok-bin, who was the youngest in the previous season, could not hide her delight at the addition of new "younger siblings" Lee Joon and Yoon Nam-no. The group soon boarded a yacht to head to Mano Juan Island, where Kim Ok-bin surprised everyone by revealing she had a yacht and boat license. She skillfully took the helm, impressing both her fellow cast members and viewers as she navigated the sea.
Once they reached their accommodation on Mano Juan Island, the cast set out to secure food supplies. However, Lee Joon faced an unexpected challenge. Known for his dependency on carbs, he rummaged through the fridge in desperation before heading out to find food. He ended up buying empanadas and spaghetti from a local vendor and quickly devoured them. In the studio, DIN DIN humorously exposed Lee Joon's usual diet of instant rice, kimchi, and seaweed, to which Lee Joon jokingly responded, "DIN DIN sent me a prison menu the other day, saying I eat better than that," drawing laughter from everyone.
Meanwhile, the real adventure of seafood hunting began. Unlike Kim Ok-bin, who was confident in the water, Lee Joon appeared nervous in the strong Caribbean currents. Kim Ok-bin, who holds licenses in underwater foraging and freediving, gracefully caught crayfish, earning admiration. In contrast, Lee Joon struggled with the rough waters and slippery seafood, providing comic relief. At one point, Lee Joon worriedly asked, "What if we encounter a shark?" to which Heo Young-ji humorously suggested, "Just push its nose away," adding to the laughter.
After their sea adventure, Lee Joon and Kim Ok-bin attempted a prank on chef Yoon Nam-no, claiming they failed to gather ingredients. Yoon Nam-no, while maintaining a calm exterior, later admitted, "I was actually frustrated because we had no ingredients," which resonated with viewers. When Heo Young-ji playfully teased him, Yoon Nam-no retorted, "That's quite bold for a first meeting," adding to the humor.
Meanwhile, Ryu Soo-young took on the challenge of catching a marlin alone at sea, wrestling with the fishing rod and building anticipation for the next episode. The cast busily prepared for dinner, marking the official start of 'Caribbean Bob.'
Join Ryu Soo-young, Kim Ok-bin, Lee Joon, and Yoon Nam-no as they conquer Caribbean ingredients on 'Caribbean Bob,' airing every Thursday at 9 PM.
