Actor Lee Hee-jun has captivated both domestic and international audiences with his chilling portrayal of a 'villain' in the Netflix series 'Karma.'

Released on April 4, the series features Lee Hee-jun as a character driven to the edge by debt, known as the 'Loan Shark.' He masterfully conveys a chilling madness and a desperate survival instinct.

In extreme situations, the Loan Shark character is cunning enough to survive, yet he is cowardly in front of the strong and cruel to the weak. Lee Hee-jun brings this complex character to life with a performance rich in emotion and depth.

Faced with failed investments and mounting debt, the Loan Shark makes a desperate choice, planning to kill his father to claim life insurance money. He even approaches Gil-ryong (played by Kim Sung-kyun) to hire him for the murder.

Lee Hee-jun portrays this character, who is pushed to the brink by debt, with meticulous attention to detail. While he appears calm and ideal on the surface, his tone and gaze reveal extreme anger and shattered self-esteem. His short lines in front of Gil-ryong are filled with resignation and madness, and his forced smile during a confrontation with an insurance agent creates an uncomfortable tension.

From the beginning, his performance builds tension, which reaches its peak in the latter part of the series. As he seeks revenge, the situation spirals out of control. Trapped in an abandoned building, tied up and covered in oil, he pleads for his life while still trying to avoid responsibility, showcasing the duality of the Loan Shark character.

Lee Hee-jun delivers a powerful performance, capturing a mix of fear, resignation, and a desperate will to live. His concentrated acting skills overwhelm viewers, culminating in a dramatic climax.

Lee Hee-jun brings the Loan Shark to life as a 'pathetic and cowardly human' who could exist in reality. He meticulously designs every detail, from his speech to his slumped shoulders and the angle of his gaze, convincingly portraying the character's physical and mental collapse.

'Karma' was released in its entirety on Netflix on April 4 and is currently gaining popularity with positive reviews from viewers.
