Global artist Jennie has taken the music world by storm with her first solo album, 'Ruby.'
Released on March 7 at midnight KST, Jennie's debut solo album 'Ruby' has topped the real-time charts on major domestic music platforms like Bugs, as well as the iTunes 'Top Albums' charts in 21 countries and regions, including the Philippines, Thailand, and Singapore.
Prior to the album's release, Jennie performed at 'The Ruby Experience' concert in Los Angeles on March 6-7. She chose a strikingly minimalist outfit consisting of plain white shorts and a t-shirt, which accentuated her body lines during her dance performances.
During the concert, Jennie handled unexpected situations involving potential wardrobe malfunctions with poise, even managing to enjoy the moment, which drew cheers from the audience. Although some criticized the outfit for being overly revealing, Jennie's ability to pull off such a bold look and performance garnered significant attention.
Global fans responded with impressive chart rankings. 'Ruby' reached the number one spot on the daily digital bestseller charts of China's QQ Music and Kugou Music, with all tracks, including the title song 'like JENNIE,' performing well on global music charts.
The music video for 'like JENNIE' achieved the number one spot on YouTube's trending videos just five hours after its release, and it also topped the YouTube Trending Worldwide and YouTube Music Video Trending Worldwide charts, showcasing Jennie's immense global popularity and influence.
'Ruby' showcases Jennie's diverse musical talents and charm, featuring a variety of genres and concepts that highlight her potential as a solo artist. The album includes a total of 15 tracks, each representing different styles, including the title track 'like JENNIE.'
The title track 'like JENNIE' emphasizes individuality and creativity, with Jennie participating in both the lyrics and composition. The song captures the essence of confidently shining while staying true to oneself, celebrating the realization that no one can take her place as she walks her own path.
