Group TWICE has made history as the first K-pop girl group to win at the American Music Awards (AMAs), one of the top three major music award shows in the United States.

On May 25 (local time), TWICE was named the winner of the "Best Female K-Pop Artist" category at the 2026 American Music Awards, held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

This win is especially meaningful as it marks TWICE's first trophy after receiving their second AMA nomination. Since the AMAs are known for heavily weighing fan votes alongside streaming and album sales, this achievement is seen as yet another testament to TWICE's powerful global fandom and worldwide influence.

Even in their 12th year since debut, TWICE continues to enjoy unwavering global popularity. Their ongoing world tour, '<THIS IS FOR>,' which kicked off in Incheon in July of last year, is their largest tour to date, spanning 43 cities worldwide for a total of 78 shows. In particular, the North American leg of the tour covered 20 cities with 35 shows up to the Austin performance, drawing approximately 550,000 attendees and setting a record for the highest concert attendance by a K-pop girl group in North America.
