Russian-born model Dasha Taran (26), who was named one of the "100 Most Beautiful Women in the World" in 2018 and boasts 22 million followers, has been granted an injunction by the court to suspend her exclusive contract with her South Korean agency.

According to legal circles on the 29th, the 50th Civil Division of the Seoul Central District Court granted the injunction filed by Dasha Taran against her agency, Rainmaker Co., Ltd.

The court decided to suspend the validity of the exclusive contract signed by both parties on May 4, 2023, until the final judgment is reached in the main lawsuit filed to confirm the non-existence of the exclusive contract between the creditor (Dasha Taran) and the debtor (Rainmaker).

Consequently, it has become difficult for Rainmaker to claim contractual rights or restrict Dasha Taran’s entertainment activities, including television and film appearances, performances, commercial shoots, and music production.

The court stated, "Since entering into an exclusive contract with Dasha Taran, the agency has failed to provide payments statements or related data for approximately 7 years, leaving her without even the opportunity to verify if proper payments were made." The court further judged, "Considering that the agency repeatedly responded that they were 'preparing' the documents when requested for data starting in December 2025, and failed to disclose the information even after receiving a formal notice in 2026, there is room to conclude that the trust between the parties has been damaged."

Previously, Dasha Taran filed for an injunction to suspend her exclusive contract on the 2nd and also initiated legal action by filing a complaint against the agency's CEO, identified as A.

The core of this dispute is the issue of payment. Dasha’s side claims that she has not received a single payment statement since her first contract in 2019.

Kim Sang-kyun, an attorney at the law firm Taeyul representing Dasha Taran, stated, "Since her first commercial appearance fee in 2019, Dasha has requested data multiple times over the past 7 years, but only received repeated responses that it would be provided 'soon,' with no actual data ever provided." He added, "This issue is not a sudden contract termination, but the result of long-term, accumulated problems. It occurred because, as a foreigner with limited Korean language skills, she had no choice but to rely on the agency for residency matters such as visa extensions."

In response, CEO A told reporters, "I feel sorry for not being able to disclose the data in a timely manner," but explained, "In the beginning, the personal costs invested were higher than the revenue. There is currently an unsettled amount of approximately 90 million KRW, but that amount arose after the formal notice and payment was withheld due to the ongoing dispute."

With this injunction granted, Dasha Taran is now able to continue her activities without being bound by the existing exclusive contract until the main lawsuit is settled. The final validity of the exclusive contract will be determined by the outcome of the main trial. Additionally, it is reported that Dasha Taran’s side filed a criminal complaint with the Gangnam Police Station last month against CEO A for charges including violation of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Economic Crimes (embezzlement) and professional malpractice.
