Actor and producer Jinyoung is reuniting with the group I.O.I through music after 10 years.
On the 28th, his agency, Management Run, announced, "Jinyoung, who has solidified his position as an actor through dramas and films, has announced a reunion with I.O.I this coming May," adding, "He plans to showcase music containing his own unique sensibility, not as an actor, but as a producer."
Jinyoung has consistently continued his musical activities by participating in the writing and composing of soundtracks for projects he has appeared in. He has received praise from fans for presenting music that elevates the atmosphere of a production based on his delicate and lyrical sensibilities.
This collaboration is particularly meaningful as it marks a reunion with I.O.I, with whom he formed a connection through Mnet's "Produce 101" in 2016. As they are meeting again after about 10 years, the anticipation of fans who remember the sensibilities of that time is rising.
In particular, Jinyoung participated in both the writing and composing of I.O.I's pre-release track, "Goodbye with a Smile" (literal title). It is reported that this song is an archive track worked on 10 years ago, containing the fresh sensibilities of that time exactly as they were.
"Goodbye with a Smile" is a song that carries the message, "A greeting we exchanged in advance 10 years ago," and it promises a lyrical atmosphere that feels as if it is reconnecting a paused moment in time.
