The group KATSEYE is proving their rapid rise in the United States.
According to the latest Billboard charts (dated April 25) released on the 21st (local time), KATSEYE’s new song "PINKY UP" debuted at No. 28 on the Hot 100. This marks the group's highest-ever ranking on the chart.
Previously, KATSEYE successfully charted with "Gnarly" (No. 82), "Gabriela" (No. 21), and "Internet Girl" (No. 29). With "PINKY UP," they have achieved their fourth entry on the Hot 100 while simultaneously breaking their own record to reach a new career high.
Their upward trend is also evident on major global charts. "PINKY UP" reached No. 14 on the UK’s Official Singles Top 100 (dated April 17 - 23), setting a new personal best, and also hit No. 18 on Spotify’s Weekly Top Songs Global (dated April 10 - 16), marking the highest ranking among all new entries during that period.
These results are being attributed to the explosive response from their recent Coachella performances.
KATSEYE took the Sahara Stage at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, on the 10th and 17th (local time), performing 11 songs over approximately 45 minutes. The venue, which has a capacity of about 60,000, was packed with fans, and the signature choreography and addictive chorus of "PINKY UP" naturally encouraged sing-alongs and audience participation.
Online metrics have also surged. Around the first and second weeks of their Coachella performances, KATSEYE’s social media follower count increased by more than 580,000, surpassing a total of 47 million. The live performance video of "PINKY UP" released by the official Coachella account garnered over 6.3 million views, and foreign media outlets praised them with comments such as "an unbelievably cool performance" and "a great girl group."
Meanwhile, KATSEYE is set to continue their momentum by appearing on a series of major global stages, including the Governors Ball Music Festival in June, the Hinterland Music Festival in July, and Head in the Clouds in August. They also plan to release their third EP, "WILD," this coming August.
