Hwa Sa guested on SBS Power FM (107.7MHz) WENDY’s "Young Street" on April 15 to perform her new digital single “So Cute” live and share updates.
She said she was inspired by the phrase “Cuteness wins everything” when creating “So Cute.” When DJ WENDY asked when she feels cute herself, Hwa Sa laughed and said, “When I’m sleep-deprived and start babbling nonsense. During a recent live with fans, I sang ‘So Cute’ like I was sleep-talking, and that’s when I felt cute.”
Hwa Sa also performed “So Cute” live in the studio. WENDY praised her, saying, “Among our guests, you used the studio space the most. The song is bright and feel-good, but it somehow gets me emotional every time I hear it.”
A listener asked which stage she’s rewatched more: the film festival performance with Park Jung-min or the “Pinggyego” awards stage with Yoon Kyung-ho. Hwa Sa replied, “The stage with Park Jung-min brings back that nervous excitement, so I only watched it for monitoring,” adding, “I’ve watched the stage with Yoon Kyung-ho way more.”
Listeners also sent in stories calling both Hwa Sa and WENDY mischievous as kids. Hwa Sa confessed, “I thought wearing glasses looked cool, so I lied to my mom that I couldn’t see well. We ended up going for an eye exam, and before that, I even threw dirt in my eyes on purpose.” WENDY related with her own childhood story about pretending she couldn’t see during an eye test because she wanted glasses, too.
Hwa Sa picked ILLIT’s “Magnetic” as a song she finds cute lately. She once tried a cute take on the performance for fans, but joked that the reactions―like “Hwa Sa makes even the intro feel like a power trip” and “Adult ‘Magnetic’”―left her more amused than comforted.
