Episode 2 of SBS’s "Finding Genius: Infinity", airing on the 9th, spotlights three 14-year-old cooking prodigies who bring serious skills to their “taste debut.” Expect sparks to fly.
3MCs Cha Tae-hyun, MIMI, and Mimiminu are stunned from the jump by the contestants’ presence. “The prodigy we’re introducing today is a first,” says Cha. “We’ve never had a prodigy in this field on 'Finding Genius'.” Moments later, the reveal: three 14-year-old boys dreaming of becoming next-gen chefs. “This is giving total 'Culinary Class Wars',” MIMI says, hyped.
The trio of “cooking prodigies” includes Lee Yeon-woo, the “Goseong knife ace” with standout Japanese-cuisine technique who handles seafood like a pro; Jung Jun-woo, the “doneness genius” who even tracks meat market prices; and Park Eun-chong, an “Aljalddakkkalshob”-style all-rounder who studies Korean, Western, Chinese, Japanese cuisine―and even food processing theory. After a VCR shows their everyday cooking, Mimiminu marvels, “Never giving up is our prodigies’ trademark.”
As the studio heats up, Chef Kwon Seong-jun makes a surprise entrance as a judge. “I don’t see them as kids. I see them as ‘chefs,’” he says, promising sharp, detailed critiques. Watching their process, he praises, “Clean, rock-solid fundamentals,” and adds, “I’m getting Chef Son Jong-won vibes.” Curiosity is building over who will earn Chef Kwon’s final nod.
Also in this episode, viewers will get an update on Kim Yo-han, who appeared 10 years ago as a “piano prodigy.”
