Premiering Wednesday, April 22, the new SBS Wed-Thu rom-com "Sold Out on You" (written by Jin Seung-hee, directed by Ahn Jong-yeon) follows perfectionist farmer Matthew Lee (Ahn Hyo-seop) and sellout-chasing home shopping host Dam Ye-jin (Chae Won-bin) as their lives collide day and night.
New stills released on the 2nd tease the slow-burn shift between Matthew Lee, the owner of a white kkotnuri mushroom farm, and Dam Ye-jin, a show host who arrives to pick those mushrooms. Their bickering sparks quickly turn into something sweeter, dialing up viewers’ anticipation.
First up, the opening still shows Matthew Lee and Dam Ye-jin deadlocked in a fierce stare-down in the middle of the road. In the drama, Matthew Lee is a young farmer running the world’s only white kkotnuri mushroom farm. Dam Ye-jin, from Hit Home Shopping, heads to Deokpung Village to secure white kkotnuri mushrooms for a supplier contract. Their hostile first meeting hints their relationship is set to go off on the wrong foot.
He’s a prickly farmer determined to protect the mushrooms he raised like his own children. She needs to change his mind to pick them. Their no-compromise back-and-forth is inevitable―and it even escalates into a scuffle. Their chaotic, quarrelsome chemistry has viewers intrigued.
But the unexpected happens. Matthew Lee and Dam Ye-jin start to understand and empathize with each other. Instead of glaring like their first meeting, they begin to look at each other with soft smiles―just like in the third still―setting the stage for a sweet romance.
"Sold Out on You" promises both heart-fluttering sweetness and cozy healing as Matthew Lee and Dam Ye-jin―who used to argue the moment their eyes met―learn to care for each other’s wounds.
