With Shin Hye-sung absent from Shinhwa member Lee Min-woo’s wedding, Kim Dong-wan posted a thought-provoking message that’s drawing attention.

On March 29, Lee Min-woo married Lee Ami, an 11-years-younger third-generation Korean-Japanese, at a private location in Seoul. The ceremony was kept low-key with only family members and close friends invited.

Eric, Jun Jin, Andy, and Kim Dong-wan were all in attendance. Eric arrived with his wife Na Hye-mi and their children, while Jun Jin and Andy also came with their spouses. Jun Jin and Andy served as MCs, and Zion.T and GUMMY performed the congratulatory songs.

However, Shin Hye-sung was missing from the released group photo, sparking questions―especially since several members attended with their partners.

On the 30th, Kim Dong-wan wrote on his social media, “Why keep trying to attach meaning to someone’s choice to live quietly? It’s his life. He hasn’t incurred a debt, and he has no obligation to explain.”

The post was widely read as drawing a line against the speculation surrounding Shin Hye-sung’s absence from the wedding.

In October 2022, Shin Hye-sung received a six-month prison sentence, suspended for one year, for driving another person’s car while intoxicated in Songpa-gu, Seoul. Since then, he has halted activities and avoided public appearances.

With this marriage, Lee Min-woo becomes the fourth married member of Shinhwa, following Eric, Jun Jin, and Andy.
