SBS Special’s "Mongle Mongle Mongle" follows young adults with developmental disabilities who dream of love but haven’t had the chance. Over eight weeks, they receive dating coaching from “center directors” Lee Hyo-ri and Lee Sang-soon as they set out in search of a First Love.
The show’s heartfelt look at the participants’ relationships and growth is spreading fast by word of mouth. It ranked No. 1 among broadcast networks in its time slot and doubled its key 20-49 ratings. It also entered Netflix’s Today’s Top 10 Series in South Korea for the second week in a row, landing at No. 8 as of March 19 ― a bright, pure standout in a sea of dopamine-chasing content.
In the March 22 (Sun.) finale, viewers will see the participants’ last dates and final choices ― plus a flood of sugar-sweet compliments as directors Lee Hyo-ri and Lee Sang-soon trade affectionate praise.
Yoo Ji-hoon, known as “Lee Hyo-ri’s archnemesis” thanks to his quick back-and-forth with her, sets off the couple’s lovey-dovey eye contact. Watching him share compliments on a date and relax into a warm smile, Lee Hyo-ri beams: “I think it’s my first time seeing Ji-hoon smile like that.”
The couple is especially moved by how honestly Yoo Ji-hoon expresses what he likes about his date. When Lee Sang-soon says, “I think we should compliment each other more often,” Lee Hyo-ri responds sweetly, “Let’s compliment each other more, honey.”
Then Lee Hyo-ri looks into Lee Sang-soon’s eyes and blurts, “You look so pretty today! You’re the best!” with a big thumbs-up. Lee Sang-soon laughs at the surprise compliment and fires back with double thumbs-up: “You look so pretty today, too! How are you this pretty?” The praise relay goes full-on adorable.
The scene-stealing “compliment date” that inspired the married duo’s extra-sweet exchange will be revealed on the "Mongle Mongle Mongle" broadcast.
Billed as Korea’s first dating reality show featuring young adults with developmental disabilities, "Mongle Mongle Mongle" airs its finale on Sunday, March 22, at 11:05 p.m.
