Actor Go Ah-sung will host episode 2 of "SNL Korea" Season 8.
"SNL Korea" is the country’s No. 1 comedy show, famous for A-list guest hosts and a fearless crew that delivers bold, buzzworthy laughs every week. Marking her 22nd year since debut, Go Ah-sung is stepping up to the "SNL Korea" challenge this season.
Go Ah-sung, who debuted in 2004, shot to stardom with an unforgettable performance in Bong Joon-ho’s 2006 film "The Host." She went on to build a versatile filmography with "Snowpiercer," Cannes selection "Office," the stirring "A Resistance," the feel-good hit "Samjin Company English Class," and most recently her first melodrama film, "Pavane" ― proving herself a “trustworthy actor” audiences can always count on.
As the Season 8 host, Go Ah-sung will take on her first live comedy stage and show a daring transformation unlike anything we’ve seen from her. From her flawless Seoul dialect in the drama Life on Mars to the unexpected charm she showed on the variety show Edward Lee’s "Country Cook," fans are curious to see what viral moments she’ll create on "SNL Korea" this season.
“I never imagined I’d be on stage as the host of "SNL Korea" Season 8. It’s my first time doing live comedy, so I’m nervous but excited,” Go said. “In keeping with the title of Korea’s top comedy show, I’ll bring all my bright energy and even act with my eyes ― please cheer me on warmly.”
Alongside Go Ah-sung’s bold new side, "SNL Korea" Season 8 Episode 2 will feature the killer chemistry of core cast members Shin Dong-yup, Jung Sang-hoon, Jung Sung-ho, Kim Min-kyo, Ahn Young-mi, Jung Yi-rang, Lee Soo-ji, Kwon Hyuk-soo, Kim Won-hoon, Ji Ye-eun, and Kim Kyu-won, plus newly joined rookies. Go Ah-sung’s episode drops Saturday, April 4, at 8 p.m.
