Actor Kim Gyu-ri addressed complaints filed with the district office over alleged Food Sanitation Act violations after she posted a meetup video from a gopchang restaurant opened by DJ DOC members Lee Haneul and Jung Jae-yong.
Through her YouTube channel, Kim said, “After people watched the Feb. 1 meetup video at the gopchang restaurant, some click-chasing channels took aim at me, and the folks taking their cue from them seem to have filed complaints with the district office.” She added, “I was so shocked by the articles that I reached out to Lee Haneul, and he said business is running smoothly.”
She continued, “People are trying to create a problem when there isn’t one,” adding, “If you’re going to criticize and hurt someone, at least know the facts first. I asked for one song to keep the vibe fun, and that seems to have stirred things up. I feel sorry to the restaurant owners. I’ll be more careful next time.”
Previously, Kim held a fan meetup at the restaurant run by Lee Haneul and Jung Jae-yong, and clips of music playing and her singing spread on social media. In response, Lee Haneul and Jung Jae-yong’s side stated, “False claims that the gopchang restaurant received a two-month business suspension are spreading indiscriminately on certain YouTube channels, online communities, and short-form platforms. We have never once received a business suspension or any administrative penalty, and we are operating normally.”
They emphasized, “The ‘two-month suspension’ claims circulating online are clearly false information,” adding, “The spread of distorted information is a serious issue that threatens the livelihoods of customers, employees, and partners.” They added, “We have already retained legal counsel and begun legal action over the spread of falsehoods and defamation,” signaling a firm response.
