On the February 15 episode of SBS’s "Running Man", KyuHyun and Roy Kim appeared as guests.
KyuHyun shared an update that he’s set to play Light in the musical "Death Note", prompting the members to ask for a musical number.
He cautioned first, saying, “Can I make an excuse? I wrapped a concert, took a red-eye flight, and slept three hours. My voice isn’t in great shape.”
Yoo Jae-suk teased, “Singers are always ‘not in great shape,’” calling out the usual pre-performance disclaimer. KyuHyun added, “And live singing on 'Running Man' always worries me. We start filming at 10 a.m.,” continuing to play up the complaint.
But once the music started, his gaze changed―and he delivered a stage that was nothing like the worries suggested, grabbing attention. He then said, “Think of that as 50%, maybe 30%,” sparking curiosity about how he’ll sound on the real stage.
Roy Kim also performed live. Beforehand, he said, “I’ll do about 10%. No, 7%. I’ve got sinusitis and tonsillitis right now,” downplaying his condition. Still, his stage drew applause, and Ji Ye-eun raved, “That was so good―total heart-stealer.”
Watching this, Ji Seok-jin pointed out, “Funny how you didn’t say that when KyuHyun sang.” Ji Ye-eun quickly added, “No, I loved his, too,” praising KyuHyun’s performance.
KyuHyun joked, “So clearly, I’m not your type. I know,” then he added with a laugh, “I’m so writing Ji Ye-eun’s name on my Death Note,” cracking everyone up.
