Set to air the night of Jan. 16, the new episode of SBS’s "Manager Seojin" welcomes a true living legend of Korean pop, Namjin, as the celebrity guest of the week.
The longest-running active singer of his generation, Namjin dominated the 1970s as the “Elvis Presley of Korea.” Known for high-octane performances that were ahead of their time―and for drawing crowds of devoted fans―he’s still proving his star power. Celebrating his 60th debut anniversary, he’s currently delivering two-and-a-half-hour live sets on tour without missing a beat.
A teaser for "Manager Seojin" captured the emotional moment when a single soulful line from Namjin brought Kim Kwang-kyu to tears, while Lee Seo-jin watched with a telling expression. Viewers flooded social media with reactions like “Why did he suddenly tear up?” and “Lee Seo-jin’s face says it all,” and many are buzzing about the meeting of Lee―often dubbed a gentleman of the industry―with the original gentleman himself, Namjin.
The hype is translating into numbers. Following last week’s appearance by ANYUJIN, "Manager Seojin" surged in the buzz rankings. According to Good Data Corporation’s FUNdex, the show broke into the TV non-drama Top 10 and ranked No. 1 among Friday variety programs, edging out I Live Alone. ANYUJIN also landed at No. 9 on the non-drama talent chart, underscoring the episode’s heat.
