Director Ryoo Seung-wan’s new spy thriller "HUMINT" will hit theaters Feb. 11, 2026, strategically timed for the Lunar New Year box office.
A high-stakes clash among players with competing agendas, "HUMINT" is Ryoo’s first feature since "I, the Executioner", with Jo In-sung, Park Jung-min and Shin Se-kyung leading the cast.
Unveiled Dec. 24, the first poster spotlights NIS black-ops officer Chief Cho (Jo In-sung) tracking an international crime network, alongside Park Geon (Park Jung-min) of North Korea’s Ministry of State Security, dispatched to Vladivostok; Hwang Chi-seong (Park Hae-joon), the North’s consul general who keeps Park at arm’s length; and Chae Sun-hwa (Shin Se-kyung), a waitress at a North Korean restaurant who crosses paths with Cho. Set against an icy Vladivostok backdrop, the quartet hints at a gritty, high-tension ride for moviegoers.
A second poster arranges the four leads in a dossier-style montage, teasing Ryoo’s character-driven storytelling. A tagline spelling out the title’s meaning―"HUMINT", short for “human intelligence”―underscores the film’s spycraft premise.
Dropping the same day, the launch teaser cuts together breathless chases and blistering shootouts for a big-screen adrenaline rush. Jo In-sung, Park Jung-min and Park Hae-joon sport razor-sharp new looks, while Shin Se-kyung adds an enigmatic edge―an ensemble you won’t want to miss.
Following "The Berlin File" and "Escape from Mogadishu", "HUMINT" caps Ryoo’s overseas-location trilogy, capturing Vladivostok’s wintry mood through on-location filming in Latvia. With Jo In-sung, Park Jung-min, Park Hae-joon and Shin Se-kyung powering the cast, it’s already shaping up as one of 2026’s most anticipated Korean releases.
