Comedian Park Na-rae has escalated her legal fight with her former managers, filing an additional complaint against them.
Police confirmed on the 23rd that Park submitted a new complaint on the 20th at the Yongsan Police Station, accusing her former managers―identified as A and B―of embezzlement. It follows a Dec. 6 filing in which she accused the pair of attempted extortion.
Her label N Park previously said in a statement that the ex-managers demanded a sum equal to 10% of her previous year’s revenue even after receiving severance pay. The company also claimed that after the managers set up a private corporation, funds were siphoned off under the guise of “agency fees,” prompting the embezzlement complaint.
Park recently appeared at Yongsan Police Station for a closed-door interview as the complainant in the attempted extortion case. The session reportedly lasted about six hours.
Meanwhile, the former managers have filed their own complaints accusing Park of aggravated assault and defamation, including under Korea’s Information and Communications Network Act, and have sought a provisional seizure of her real estate valued at about 100 million won . That case is being handled separately by the Gangnam Police Station.
In a video statement, Park said, “Our priority is to clarify the facts through the legal process.”
