Choi Woo-shik and Jang Hye-jin, who played son and mother in "Parasite", are reuniting as mom and son six years later in "Number One".
Starring Choi Woo-shik, Jang Hye-jin and Gong Seung-yeon, "Number One" has locked a February 2026 release and unveiled first-look stills alongside a teaser trailer.
The film follows Hamin (Choi), who one day starts seeing a number that drops every time he eats his mom’s cooking―until he realizes that when it hits zero, his mother Eunsil (Jang) will die.
In the first-look still, Hamin sits down to eat―mysteriously wearing sunglasses―and stares ahead with a puzzled expression, teasing the offbeat charm Choi brings to the role.
The teaser opens on high-schooler Hamin stepping out the door for school as the number in front of him slips from 361 to 360. As the countdown continues, his confusion deepens. He soon discovers the number ticks down only when he eats food his mom prepared; startled, he spits out his bite, prompting Eunsil to scold him―a slice of mom-and-son reality that lands with a laugh and a sting.
Years later, Hamin’s girlfriend Rye-eun (Gong) tells him, “Sometimes you look like someone who’s always on the run,” signaling he’s still living under the number’s shadow. The montage tracks Hamin carrying this secret as the words “Is Your Time Infinite?” flash on screen, before the teaser closes on a number “1” hovering above his head as he turns away from the dinner table―a quietly chilling final beat.
The reunion of "Parasite"’s Oscar-winning mother-son duo heightens anticipation. In "Number One", Choi and Jang promise warm, lived-in chemistry, balancing humor with finely drawn emotion over home-cooked meals. Gong Seung-yeon joins as Rye-eun, adding effortless charm and depth to the story.
"Number One" hits theaters in February 2026.
