Singer and musical theater performer Seonye paid heartfelt tribute to J.Y. Park ― the founder and chief producer of JYP Entertainment who created Wonder Girls ― sharing her gratitude and respect.

Seonye attended J.Y. Park’s solo concert “Happy Hour” on Dec. 13-14 with fellow Wonder Girls members Hyelim and Yubin, then posted a long note reflecting on the experience.

“When genius is paired with relentless work ethic, humility and a pure heart, it lifts people up. That’s what I’ve always seen in J.Y. Park,” she wrote, expressing deep admiration.

She went on to recall their history: “He took a chance on me when I was 13 with no money or connections, made me a trainee, built a girl group around me, and even sang at my wedding. He’s the kind of grown-up you hope to have in your corner.”

Grateful to share the stage moment this year, Seonye also called him “the artist who most truly embodies the term ‘pop star,’” and offered a playful cheer: “He once said he’d dance until 60 ― only six years to go.”

Seonye became a JYP trainee in 2001 through SBS’s “J.Y. Park’s 99% Talent Development Project,” and after about six years of training, she debuted in 2007 as the leader of Wonder Girls.

The group was built around Seonye, a testament to Park’s trust in her. After pausing activities in 2013 when she married, she returned with a solo album in 2022 and stepped onto the musical-theater stage in 2023, continuing to build her career onstage.
