"Would You Marry Me" (written by Lee Hana; directed by Song Hyun-wook and Hwang In-hyuk) follows two strangers who fake a 90-day marriage to secure a high-end newlywed home giveaway. The premise has been a crowd-pleaser, powered by Choi and Jung’s effortless rom-com chemistry.
Episode 4 delivered a twist: Woo-joo (Choi Woo-shik) discovers that Me-ri (Jung So-min) is the “keychain girl” from his 'first love' days. Realizing the connection, he leans even harder into their sham marriage ― while Me-ri’s ex-fiance, also named Woo-joo (played by Seo Beom-jun), returns to Korea and reaches out, hinting at trouble ahead.
In the new photos, Woo-joo and Me-ri pull each other close in a tight hug. He confidently wraps an arm around her shoulders; she gently grips his, their faces so near you can almost hear their breaths. The height and build contrast between the broad-shouldered Woo-joo and the petite, doll-like Me-ri only amplifies the physical chemistry ― pure swoon material.
Their expressions say it all: what started as a transactional setup is sparking real feelings. As Woo-joo throws himself into the ruse, that will-they-won’t-they energy between the pair keeps bubbling up.
But the tension spikes when ex-fiance Woo-joo appears outside the newlywed home, staring up at the couple’s terrace with a pointed, unreadable gaze. Will the man who’s Me-ri’s husband on paper blow up the act ― and their shot at the prize ― or will he clock the sham before they can come clean?
The production team teases that the fake newlywed arrangement, rooted in a long-ago First Love, is about to blossom into full-on romance ― with an emotional whirlwind once the ex-fiance steps squarely into the picture.
Episode 5 of "Would You Marry Me" airs tonight, Oct. 24, at 9:50 p.m. KST.
