Comedian-turned-YouTuber Lim Lara, 36, who welcomed twins on October 14, has been admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) following post-delivery complications.
Her husband, fellow creator Son Min-soo, shared an update on October 23 via social media, writing, “Lara suddenly had severe bleeding, so we rushed to the ER and she was moved to the ICU. She hates being alone, but I can’t be by her side right now, and there’s nothing I can do. Please pray for a full recovery.”
He added, “Family can’t stay in the ICU, so waiting and praying is all we can do,” also thanking Korea’s 119 emergency responders for their swift help.
A day earlier, Son told fans on their Enjoy Couple YouTube community page that a planned birth video upload would be delayed due to Lim’s sudden downturn, promising to return “as soon as she’s better.”
Lim delivered twins weighing 3.24 kg and 2.77 kg. Before birth, she was treated for severe pregnancy-related itching and ultimately welcomed the babies via C-section.
Recalling the delivery, Son shared that Lim’s original due date was October 16, but they moved it up to October 14 as her symptoms worsened. “Even while struggling, Lara kept a bright face to the very end. It was incredible―and it broke my heart,” he wrote.
Lim and Son tied the knot in May 2023 after nine years together.
