YUQI of I-DLE is riding a global surge just days into her comeback, shaking up charts worldwide.
At 6 p.m. KST today (Sept. 18), she’ll premiere the first music-show performance of “M.O.,” the title track from her new single Motivation, on Mnet’s "M Countdown."
Upon release, “M.O.” quickly took over both domestic and international rankings, hitting No. 1 on Bugs’ real-time chart and breaking into the upper tier of Melon’s HOT 100, while landing high on U.S. iTunes and in the top tiers across nine countries. The single Motivation also jumped to No. 1 on the daily Digital Album Best-Seller charts of China’s QQ Music and KuGou Music, underscoring its explosive reception.
Self-written, “M.O.” champions gut instinct over rules or outside noise―the conviction that intuition is the force that moves you. A vintage drum loop and hefty bass line anchor YUQI’s commanding vocal, channeling ’90s boom-bap through a sleek, modern lens. Onstage, look for punchy signature moves, including a big side-to-side “wiper” swing and an “M” hand gesture fans are already echoing.
Following "M Countdown," YUQI will continue her promo run with KBS2’s "Music Bank" on Sept. 19, plus additional music shows in the coming days.
