Actress Hwang Jung-eum has issued an apology and announced the full repayment of funds from her solo agency that were used for cryptocurrency investments.

Her agency, Y-One Entertainment, stated on the 17th, "Hwang Jung-eum has fully repaid the amount used in the form of advances from Hunminjeongeum Entertainment by liquidating her personal assets on May 30 and June 5, 2025. As a result, the financial relationship between Hunminjeongeum Entertainment and Hwang Jung-eum has been completely resolved."

The statement continued, "As the owner of a solo corporation, not a professional manager, Hwang Jung-eum deeply regrets the controversy caused by her lack of appropriate tax and accounting knowledge. She is committed to taking all necessary legal and ethical steps to quickly resolve this matter."

It added, "We sincerely apologize once again for any concern caused and will ensure that, moving forward, even the smallest details are managed with the help of professionals to maintain a more careful and responsible approach to regain trust."

Previously, Hwang Jung-eum was charged without detention for embezzling approximately 4.34 billion won from her 100% owned solo agency by December 2022. It was revealed that she had invested about 4.2 billion won of this in cryptocurrency.

Initially, Hwang Jung-eum had stated, "With the intention of growing the company, I was advised by someone around me around 2021 to try increasing the company's funds through cryptocurrency investment. Despite it being the company's money, it was earned through my activities, leading to my naive decision."

Hwang Jung-eum has finalized her divorce from her former husband and is currently raising two sons on her own.
